I've wanted a tattoo forever, but have been delaying until I thought of an image I wanted. When I finally figured that out, Anne-Corinne recommended the place in Portland where she got 3 of her tattoos, and Shannon came along for moral support and photography duties. The studio, Infinity Tattoo, has a great energy and does custom work.

I went into the shop the day before to discuss my idea with Naomi, the tattoo artist, and to give her a couple of photocopies Denison made for me. She then designed the tattoo that night and made this amazing painting of it.
|
At first, I thought that getting tattooed hurt less than expected, but then she started to fill it in. Yipes! But I think it was worth it. Several people wandered in to admire the design, which was gratifying, even though all I did was have an idea. Tom says I get credit for good management.

This is what it looks like two days later. There is still some red within the raven, which will go away as it heals. It hasn't started scabbing over, which I'm sure will be enjoyable. Naomi did such a good job of making this guy a raven (as opposed to a crow), with his scruffy face and pants. There is no particular significance to the type of berry, but I believe she made them hawthorne berries.

Finally posting a photo now that it's healed. I seem to be having a hard time getting the right lighting on my own leg, but oh well.
