The 2004 Temporary Freedom Road Trip

Got myself a leave of absence this summer, and decided to throw the dog in the car for a nice, long summer road trip. I budgeted $100 a day, about half of that for gas, given the current oil situation.

Here are some basic stats.

Total Miles: 10490
Total Days: 39
Miles per Day: 269
Average Expenses per Day:
gas: $20.95
food: $17
lodging: $25.91
misc.: $7.70
Lodging Breakdown (nights spent):
motel: 10
camp ground: 14
friends' houses: 15

Here's an overview of my route. If you have any bright ideas for naming its shape, send them my way: I think this trip needs a good name.
