Early fall, 2003 (the first year). The silvery stuff in the foreground are lamb's ears, with my Japanese Maple to the right. The thing in the bottom left corner isn't photographing well, but is a very cool plant called "Indian Feather."
April, 2004. Front and center is the Indian Feather plant, which today (late June) has gotten quite huge and is starting to bloom.

April, 2004. There are still some bare spots, one year in, but it's really starting to fill in now. I'm continually surprised at how much perennials spread.
